Rnningfool.com Update

I wanted to share with my readers the stats of the site so you can get an idea of what I see when I choose what to post. Click on the image to get a better look. You can see that the traffic has really taken off as of late. Yesterday I recorded the highest amount of visitors in a day at 1260. This graph shows a little over 2 year period and you can see for the first year I practically got no readers. Although the bounce rate is high at 68%, I’m still happy at least it’s getting to someone. The substantial increase is due to the googling of “Brandi Passante.” I think I should send her a thank you card because without her I wouldn’t have any traffic. I think she fits the realm of fairly obscure but there aren’t that many websites to flood the market so I’m receiving the interest. I assume this will eventually die down but it’s good while it lasts. The main page that everyone searches for is Brandi’s mug shot. I can explain the success of this page and I owe it all to MSPaint. Taking her supposed mug shot picture and putting it next to another picture of hers is what sets this page apart from others on the internet. I just reread the content there for the first time and it wasn’t bad but if so many people are hitting that page I should probably spruce it up a little. I think it’s funny that people are drawn to the idea that she’s a stripper. The comments are vicious too but the last one saying “Why is this guy an asshole it happened, these are facts.” is hilarious how is judging that rnningfool.com is a credible source. People are drawn to controversy. This is something that I have to learn in future posts.

No Reply At All

This title is in response to Sam’s post “In the Air (tonight). If you don’t get the reference you don’t listen to enough Phil Collins (Genesis). Anyway, I wanted to write a post about replying to people who want to communicate. If you’ve known me, you know I tend to dismiss communication. I don’t really have this feeling that it’s required by me to respond to everybody who wants to have some sort of contact with me. This means emails, texts, phone calls, or any other means of new age correspondence. Because of my attitude towards responding when I feel like it, people get fed up and just decide to not bother. This is ok and I don’t take it personally the same way that they probably take it personally. Here are some examples of how I view different forms of communications.

Emails – I don’t have a problem communicating via email. I receive all emails and I’d say I respond to 80% of my emails. When people ask me specifically if I want to do something by email, I will give an answer within an 8 hour window. I find using email to be relatively easy. However, if I deem an email sort of unimportant or I’m on a list with 10 other people, I don’t feel the need to respond.

Phone I flat out don’t like talking on the phone. I feel like everything that can be said on the phone should be wrapped up in 2 minutes or less. I’m not good at casual conversation. It’s not that I can’t do it, I just would usually rather be doing something else. This doesn’t mean I won’t ever answer my phone but I’m not one of those people who have their phone attached to them 24/7. I use it at my convenience and in today’s age that is frowned upon. If I miss your call, I will get back to you. It might take me a few hours but I don’t ignore a call unless some time has passed and I know I missed out on whatever the person was doing.

Texts I will respond to texts but don’t be surprised if I abruptly stop a conversation whenever I get tired. Texting is a laborious task that I’m usually not into doing for lengths of time. If your text message is not looking for a reply and is just a comment, chances are I’m not going to respond. This is a reasonable way of communicating with me though and I will most likely reply within an hour.

Anything Else – Skype, Facebook Chat, AIM (do people still use this) or Carrier Pigeon usually aren’t great ways to reach me. I tend to put these as low end communication and will just avoid you even if I see that you are trying to talk to me. It’s just more trouble than it’s worth to me.

I’m not good with communication. I don’t have this need of talking to people. I don’t want to share my thoughts and emotions with someone just because. I know this is annoying and people probably don’t like me for it. Take a text from someone who sent it to me on Tuesday saying want to go here on Friday? I saw it on Tuesday and 24 hours later I replied. I didn’t know if I wanted to on Tuesday so I didn’t reply. I waited until I had a better feel of the situation and replied. This is unacceptable in 2011. The window of communication by text is under 1 hour. I remember the good old days with a landline where it might take days to get in touch with someone. Too bad for that. I should have been born in the 60’s but instead I’m stuck in the modern tech world.

I’m Tired

People love to say “I’m tired.” This happens a lot at jobs when employees decide that they don’t want to work anymore. By saying their tired, this relieves them from having to work hard. The fact of the matter is, everyone is tired of something. Whether it be physically tired or tired of hearing about people saying their tired, we’re all tired. When you take a macro step back and view your life for what it is, we are put on this Earth and left to wander around some location for thousands upon thousands of days. There isn’t any real goal or purpose other than what you decide for yourself. Life is a crazy ass thing. Getting back to my “I’m tired” point, I had a professor in college who used to say sleep is for the weak. When you are asleep, you aren’t using your brain to think. This was a literary professor so this train of thought really isn’t surprising but I’m astonished that as much as I hated his class, it’s still one of the only ones I remember. I believe it’s been proven that sleep is a useful process to help your body recover and make you feel better after a good night’s rest. Other than that though, it does seem like we spend 1/3 of our life wasting it asleep.

The “I’m tired’ annoys me because it’s just another excuse for why Americans feel the need to not work hard. The only time I ever say I’m tried is after I’ve been out till 2am drinking heavily and need to wake up after only a few hours of sleep. Everyone knows that every 3 hours of drunk sleep is equivalent to 1 hour of real sleep. This is when you’ll hear I’m tired. Aside from that, I usually get 6 hours of sleep and you won’t get complaints from me. I think this is probably about the average and I’ve built my routine around this.

When I was starting this entry I had a point in mind of explaining my sleeping habits and how it was so easy to fall asleep sometimes. Like you’d lay on the couch watching something and then 1 minute later you wake up and 2 hours have gone by. But then I started getting off on a tangent and now I’m just trying to salvage the post by explaining that I got completely lost while writing it. I’ve never claimed to be a good writer though so when you read my blog you get entries like this from time to time. This would go against my post of saying that you only post your best work. This isn’t my best work but I’m 445 words deep now and I’m not deleting it.

New Storage Wars 12/6/11

The first thing I notice is the absurdity of the bidding process. There are hundreds of people in the auction yet only the main characters are bidding on the lockers. They even throw in this one random guy to bid twice to disguise this fact that only the leads are going to win this locker. The valuation that everyone complains about is still apparent. When Dave says “here’s some networking equipment, that will be a couple hundred dollars,” I thought that it looked like two dumpy routers that I’d throw in the trash. I also can’t find any reason to root for Jarrod and Brandi. I really wanted to see them fail and the fact they got lucky with some random coins was annoying. Darrell is such a dope with that humidor that it really does prove any idiot can win these things. Dave breaking the piece was pretty funny but it looked like a piece of shit anyhow. The show is starting to feel generic.

The second episode was a new bunch of characters staged in Texas. One word, flop. Absolutely horrible characters and the show seems like it’s moving in slow motion. The female, Lesa, is a hideous hag who described her partner as an “employee”. If you watched the episode you’d see why this is amusing. Victor seems like a complete moron who takes it personally when people bid against him. Moe is a second rate Barry who says “fabulous” and the fat guys seem like they are on the show because they are fat. You will not see me reviewing this show.

T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) – Will.I.Am feat J. Lo and Mick Jagger

This is the worst collaboration on a song, ever. Mick Jagger must need the money because he is tarnishing his reputation. First off, he has about 4 lines and they all come at the end of the song. J Lo does a little chorus to get her name (it’s bad and repetitive) on the song and Will.I.Am (such a stupid name) does some below average “rapping” throughout. The song reminds me of another song “Moves Like Jagger” which has a main artist (Adam Levine) do the entire song and you throw on some random bs by a named artist (Christina Aguilera). Problem is that this song is about 10x worse. This seriously bothers me because kids growing up probably have no idea who Mick Jagger is and stick his name with this song. I know the Stones have been around since the 60’s but they haven’t made a good album since the 80’s. Meaning younger people have no idea who Mick Jagger is. To hear him on this track makes my head spin because he just doesn’t belong. I can’t tell if it’s autotune but I think his singing days are in the past. His manager needs to give him some better advice.

Ambler Bball Playoffs

An unusual thing happened to me last night. When I got home from work I decided to go to the gym. I did a workout and then ran 5 miles at 28:55. When I arrived home I saw CK4 dressed up in his bball uniform and was like wtf. I had about 5 minutes to get changed and get ready for the game. My foot had this nice chunk of skin coming off and I really didn’t want to play. Nevertheless we went to the game to play a team we lost to earlier in the season. From a talent standpoint they weren’t a better team than us. However, our team doesn’t play good basketball. There’s no other way to put it. Soft defense, bad shot selection, no movement, no boxing out and a general lack of chemistry. This might be a tad harsh but we lost this game for the aforementioned reasons. People like to blame the refs but that wasn’t the case at all. If you’re the better team, you don’t let the refs decide if you win or not. My favorite play of the night was Ck4 getting a lane violation by charging in from the 3 point line on a foul shot. Were you planning on dunking the miss? This cost the team a huge point late in the game. We had plenty of chances at the end too but it wasn’t happening. If a winter team is trying to be assembled we either need new recruits or some team practices. Not a good way to finish the season.

America the Beautiful

With about 300 million people in the US, and the world population approaching 7 billion, that’s a little more than 4% of the general global population. Toss in Canada to round out North America and it totals 5%. However, North America holds around 30% of the global net worth. This is a bit skewed and should give you a good idea on why people around the world don’t look at the US with such high esteem. We come off as arrogant, greedy and wasteful. The worst thing about this situation, and why things will change, is that the US debt is about 15 trillion dollars which I’m sure I’ll never see repaid in my lifetime. Big ticket items like Medicare, Social Security, Defense and our interest payments on our debt will make certain of this. Our country is seriously flawed and anyone who doesn’t open their eyes to this is living under a rock. The other problem is that with jobs leaving the country, people don’t work, less taxes our consumed by our Gov’t and we fall further in debt. Our system gives 99 weeks of unemployment. 99 weeks!!! Our system supports inmates for years and years on the taxpayers dollar. Our system gives welfare to people who make poor decisions and decide to have 10 children when they obviously can’t afford any of them. To add insult to injury, the top 1% of US citizens control 35% of the the country’s wealth. The top 20% control 80% of the wealth. These are the people who have run this country into the ground. They are probably the most manipulative, corrupt and biggest causes of where we are. Have them bail out our nation.

I’ve been reading a book on what happens when America fails and this is what brought about this topic. I tend to write about things that I find interesting because I just assume maybe you do too. Stats like these really do open your eyes though to what’s out there. Understanding how small of the population of the US compared to the global tally is really bizarre when you think about it. When you live here in the States, this is your world. The world seems huge with 300 million people in it. Once you realize that it’s only 5% of the total population you understand that there’s a whole lot more out there to see. I also think the US is in really big trouble and the rest of the world is starting to gain power which will soon overtake the US’s influence. Just a matter of time. Until America stops looking for hand outs and decides to start putting effort towards solving problems, we’ll be better off. Things change with hard work and this country is severely lacking it. I find our country’s leadership part of the problem. I really hope Obama doesn’t get re-elected because I’m not sure he’s the man for the job. Things aren’t really headed in the right direction and the excuse of we’re correcting Bush’s mistakes has passed. Knock off the ObamaCare and stop being such a humanitarian and maybe we’ll see some results.

Working the System

Learning from Obituaries….

It seems that every couple of days New Orleans loses one of its treasured
ENTREPRENEURS

Let’s get the players straight before we go on with this.
Interpretation of data not verified but…

LARMONDO “FLAIR” ALLEN

His Companion: Kawanner Armstrong

His Sons : Christian Allen
Kwan Allen
Larmondo Allen, Jr.

His Daughters: Deidra Allen
Larmenshell Allen
Lamonshea Allen
Larmomdriel Allen
Larmerja Allen
Korevell Allen

AT AGE 25 – He had 9 Children.
(Could Kawanner Armstrong Possibly Be The Mother Of All Of His Kids?)

His Father: Burnell Thompson
His Mother: Esther Allen
His Stepfather: Bruce Gordy

His Brothers: Burnell Thompson
Edgar Thompson
Wil Willis
Danta Edwards
Reshe Edwards
Mattnell Allen
Burnell Allen
Lester Allen

His Sisters: Shannail Craig
Lekiksha Thompson
Gwendolyn Carter
Jessica Willis
Katina Gordy

J.C. Allen
Anna Laura Thompson
Will Thompson

So, lets see now….

His Father, Burnell Thompson, fathered his brothers Burnell, Edgar and his sister Lekiksha.
His Stepfather, Bruce Gordy, fathered his Sister Katina.
His Mother, Esther Allen, must have been unwed when she gave birth to: Larmondo, Mattnell, Burnell and Lester.
We don’t know who fathered Wil Willis and Jessica Willis, or Dante and Reshe Edwards.
Lets hope sisters Shannail Craig and Gwendolyn Carter are married.

GOT THE ABOVE ALL STRAIGHT?
********************
NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY

He was 25 and had 3 sons and 6 daughters.
NINE welfare recipients collecting $950 each…..
That equals $8,550 a month !!! Now add Food Stamps, Free medical, Free school lunches, and on and on
Do the math… $102,000+ /year. Anyone out there, sittin’ on their butt while reading this e-mail, making A HUNDRED GRAND doing nothing?

Now that, to me, is a real Entrepreneur. (ALSO, BECAUSE OF THEIR FATHERS DEATH, ALL OF THE KIDS WILL COLLECT SOCIAL SECURITY UNTIL THEY ARE 18) EVEN BETTER…IF “FLAIR’S” THIRTEEN BROTHERS & SISTERS FOLLOWED HIS ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGY–THAT’S AN ADDITIONAL $1.3 MILLION PER YEAR BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE! IF ALL THIRTEEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS CAN DUPLICATE HIS FEAT OF 9 WELFARE STRATEGISTS THAT BREEDS 117 NEW RECIPIENTS COLLECTING $100,000/YR!!…OR AN ADDITIONAL $11,700,000 PER YEAR… &THAT’S ONE @#!*% FAMILY (And demands 100% the Taxes Paid by 1,000 avg. taxpayers)
And THAT is why this once great country is BANKRUPT!! ANY QUESTIONS?

I look at my own poop

I look at my poop after every dump?

View Results

4 people were lying. How do I know this? Everyone looks at their own poop. It’s healthy to look at your own poop. What other way can you know for certain if you are in good health? I’m going to try not to be too descriptive here but I assume that if you have nice log action and hardly any wipe, you should be feeling good. Messy, runny, too hard or a plethora of other reasons would generally mean you aren’t at your best. It’s not like you can tell that from looking at yourself in the mirror. I might look perfectly fine on the outside but feel like shit on the inside. Your shit is a good indicator. So all I’m saying is that there’s nothing wrong with looking at your poop so the 4 people who replied no, you are going to have to take a course in honesty. I also want to add that there’s nothing wrong with flushing multiple times either. Especially in a foreign area.

In other news though, to get 18 people to respond to my poll is pretty significant. That’s the second highest total ever and it’s nice to see some participation. I never really know what to make the poll question or how long to keep it up. Most everything I do lately with this site is just an experiment. Adding the title portion with my picture isn’t something that I think is really that great. Personally I would just like to have everything in black and white and just type it like a word document. However, people are attracted to colors and I do believe that personalizing a blog helps as well. I have been altering the layout a bit too with the category section and am going to add some better pages to the top nav bar. Things are still business as usual through December.

Football & Poker Recap

Primetime had their playoff game this weekend and it didn’t end so well. We suffered the 2nd loss of the season and are now bounced from the playoffs. There wasn’t really much to say about the game except that our offense was limited and we gave them the ball in some good spots. With the score 14-12 in the middle of the second half, we had the ball on their 1 yard line and a costly pick was thrown. That shifted the momentum and they scored twice on us to seal the deal. Losing sucks in general but we didn’t have what it took to repeat as champs this year. We were missing a few key players and just basically lost.

Fantasy wise, things are coming to playoffs. I’ve made the playoffs in 4 of 5 leagues which isn’t too shabby. I got completely lucky to sneak into the Schmidts playoff having a 5-7 record. I needed everything to go perfect today and it actually did. I put up a big number in Evan’s league to separate myself a bit in the points race and get a record that should get me a playoff berth. It’s not final but I should be in control. I will make Bake’s playoffs which I’m pretty sure I have the best team. I did much better in the Yahoo leagues when compared to the ESPN league. Not sure why.

I didn’t place any bets this weekend but did play poker for a few hours on Saturday. I ended up winning 260 in about 4 hours of play. A key hand was when I raised to 10 in EP with QQ and got 3 callers. The flop came 743 and I bet 25. A guy raised to 75 and he had about 125 behind. I thought about it for a minute and decided he probably wouldn’t be doing that with a set and with no other reraise pf I didn’t think he had AA or KK. I put him on a smaller pair and went all in and he ended up calling quickly. He ended up mucking so I just assume I was way ahead. In one other hand, I had K6 on a flop of k65. A man bet 25 and I raised him to 65, he called. On the turn a 5 came and the guy pushed. I ended up folding and he said he had AA. I played pretty well I thought and was happy to walk away with a winning session.
