Chantel Jeffries Craves Recognition

Biber’s striking resemblance to Miley Cyrus, thanks Sam

The Bieber DUI story is getting huge press as well as his shotgun floozy Chantel Jeffries who seems to have an eye for the spotlight.  For me this is about as low on the totem pole as stories go.  Barstool has this unnecessary affliction for Bieber so they are posting news non-stop about it and I scan over every story completely.  By no means do I know all the details regarding the story except that they were drag racing an unheard of Def Jam Artist Khalil Sharieff and The Biebs was pulled over at 4am going 60 in a 30. His response to getting pulled over was, “What the fuck did I do? Why did you stop me?”  The arrest report describes Bieber as having a “flushed face, bloodshot eyes, and the odor of alcohol on his breath.”

Justin Bieber getting arrested is not even a news story anymore because he is the #1 candidate for next celebrity meltdown so it should be expected.  If you read an unconfirmed text game between Bieber and Selena Gomez, you’d know this was coming.  Any 19 year old who has more money than he knows what to do with and is involved in the drug scene is going to find trouble.  I think that the more fascinating part of the story is that Chantel Jeffries was in the passenger seat during this ordeal.  If you know Philly, you’d have seen Chantel in this picture with the Eagles WR DeSean “Jackpot” Jackson.

Djack with Chantel

Djack with Chantel

This woman is the quintessential attention whore.  People who look for the spotlight having no talents of their own (except for dynamite blowjobs and a tight jiwanis) don’t deserve respect in our society.  They are honestly bringing nothing to the table except an element of poor influence on people with talent. Bieber’s Ex Selena Gomez is a good example of an A+ looking female who not only has the looks but brings something to the table with her self sustained career in whatever it is she does.  Chantel on the other hand brings an arrest record that includes stabbing someone and speeding tickets and can look downright scary at times.

Chantel Mugshot not looking her finest

The pictures below indicate that the 21 year old model is a pure firecracker but I’ve also seen some pictures that would back up the above real life Chantel.  I find her to be completely over-rated and she is probably loving being in the national spotlight.  With my position of not caring about this story, it’s downright contradictory to be blogging about it but let’s just say I fall right into the trap like everyone else but I’d like to think I know I’m falling into the trap. Chantel will remain in the national news for some time now which I’m sure pleases her considering this tweet before she went on her alleged joyride with Bieber, “something about the shock factor”.  This shows her in it for the recognition and action that comes with celeb status.  Is she hot like the pics below or does make up do tremendous things?

Netflix Rockets Again

By |2014-01-23T19:32:19-05:00January 23rd, 2014|My Brain|3 Comments

Fact:  I bought 50 shares of Netflix at 69.47 on 11/23/2011.

Fact:  I sold 50 shares of Netflix at 102.47 on 4/23/2012.

Fact: This is 47% gain in a 5 month period.

Fact:  I’m an idiot.

This is the current price of Netflix

Netflix Graph 1/23/2014

Netflix Graph 1/23/2014

If I had never sold my shares, my initial $3,500 dollar investment would have been worth 20k. Normally I wouldn’t be too hard on myself because this happens all the time to people everywhere, every day. I could name a dozen stocks that I’ve owned at one point that would have provided these returns. I could also probably name more than a dozen losers as well. However, I have a special place in my heart for Netflix because I did a college project on it my senior year.

My senior year of college there was a huge project that encompassed 75% of your grade for the class Strategic Mgmt.  The project was to take 3 companies and dissect them and provide an analysis for the future.  Mind you this was back in 05′ when Netflix wasn’t even streaming yet and still delivering their DVD’s by mail.  The 3 companies we picked were Netflix, Blockbuster, and Movie Gallery.  The conclusion of our report was that Netflix was going to triumph and the other two were going to go out of business.  Guess what?  It was pretty spot on.  We ended up getting an A on the project and this should have been a little clue to the beginning of my investing career.

Netflix is now profitable

Netflix is now profitable

I didn’t exactly follow the path of Netflix throughout its life but as you can see, I still have some bitterness left in my brain.  In 2014, I understand why Netflix is making so much money.  Besides the outrage they took for trying to combine streaming and mail delivery packages (which was a smart move it just didn’t jive with the idiots of the world who still get DVD’s delivered), they have done a wonderful job as a low priced alternative to cable.  Why would you pay $150 dollars a month for cable and internet when you can pay $50 dollars a month for internet and Netflix?    I have some thoughts.

I like cable over Netflix.  I like live sports, the movie channels and their series, and selection in general.  Netflix for me doesn’t replace cable.  I find that aside from a few series, I don’t enjoy the content on Netflix.  The movie selection is horrible.  On numerous occasions I’d read about a movie from a while ago and search for it on Netflix and the search would bring up nothing.  I’m a weird person because I either want something new or really old.  I’m always looking for quality and I either want to be on top of the latest trend or brought up to date on what is considered great of the past.  Netflix misses this market segment.  I’m not into watching the 5th season of Family Guy that I watched 6 years ago.  For 15 dollars a month, split between 3 people I’m not complaining about value, I just don’t use it much.

With all that being said, Netflix added 2.3 million US customer and 1.4 million foreign customers in the 4th quarter to bring it’s total to 44.4 million global subscribers.  With 7 billion people in the world, obviously not all potential customers, it’s easy to see that there is still plenty of room for growth.  With streaming being a profitable business and how they have started making money, this company has itself in strong position moving forward.  Are you still purchasing shares at 388?

Simple Life Improvements

By |2014-01-22T20:45:58-05:00January 22nd, 2014|My Life|1 Comment

BobMarleyQuoteMost of the time, the older you get, the smarter you get. It’s fairly obvious why and  it’s due to learning from experience. At the ripe age of 30, I can say I’m figuring it out. I’ve made too many mistakes to count in the past and I’m sure I’ll make many more in the future but I’ll share with you some of the life improvements I have made.

Got To Make A Change

  • sunstar_gum_soft_picksI use a soft pick for my gums now.  I’ve always gone to the dentist twice a year my whole life.  Every single time I go to the dentist they’d floss my teeth and my gums would bleed.  The X-rays would show pockets (spaces) in my gums which were dangerous long term.  I was told repeatedly to floss (which I did do about 3-4 times a week which wasn’t enough) and tried fluoride but it never improved.  Finally I push these picks in between my gums and actually feel the spaces.  After months of doing this, I guarantee my gums will improve and my teeth will be 100% again

  • fresh-fruits-vegetables-2419I rarely snack on junk food or chocolate but that doesn’t mean I eat healthy.  I don’t cook so I’m usually either taking out or firing up the oven to heat something frozen.  These type of meals tend to have a lot of sodium.  My most recent blood results showed that I was bordering on high cholesterol.  Even though my weight is fine, I have practically no fruits or vegetables in my diet.  I doubt I’ll have a heart problem but I get the feeling this leads to unhealthy skin which I notice from time to time.  Currently I’m sitting her with a jar of fruit and attempted to cook some broccoli pasta on a skillet which I’m sure wasn’t all that healthy.  Either way it’s an effort in the right direction.

  • treadmillsMy knee is finally back to full health which seemed endless.  It was a good 3 months to heal and when I can’t get my cardio in, my life honestly gets depressing.  I eat more crap and don’t have proper balance in my life.  Since then I’ve steadily increased mileage where I can comfortably do 5 miles in under 6 minute miles now.  I want to stay at this level without pushing myself too hard to avoid injury.  I’ve written before but I’ll write again, getting injured is the worst thing you can do to your body because it prevents training.

  • gladwell_david and goliathI’ve been reading less and I know why.  It’s because I have a book that I can’t get into.  It’s Malcom Gladwell’s David and Goliath and the book isn’t that interesting.  I found all his other works compelling but this one is a pure snoozer.   I don’t like abandoning books because they are bad so I read about 10 pages a night before I go to sleep and at this rate I will read one book this year.  I would guess I average about 2-3 dozen a year but I’ve gotten caught in quicksand.  If this happens to you, I hope you are smarter than me and lay it down.

That’s all I’ve got but life is always about improving and when I look back at how I lived through college and thereafter, I’ve come a long way.  It’s never too late to make changes.  Being smart a lot of times isn’t even being smart, it’s just not being stupid.

Let Me Tell You Why The Cold Sucks

By |2014-01-22T16:03:38-05:00January 22nd, 2014|My Life|2 Comments

The Bitter Cold Bites

I hate this frigid weather.  They say hate is a strong word but I 100% hate it.  I hate shoveling, slipping, driving, and delays because of the weather.  Everything is worse.  This list will go in further detail of the pros vs the cons.

frost-ice

Pros

  • Morons will list things like hot cocoa, fires, and relaxing but they make no sense.  Things that you can do in your house don’t define things to do in the cold.
  • No activities in the snow are fun.

Cons

  • My frostbiten foot numbs up to the point of discomfort.
  • Shoveling snow hurts my back.
  • I don’t own the proper gloves or winter hat which leaves my extremities feeling like icicles.
  • Shuffling feet when walking is slower than molasses.
  • Deliveries to stores are delayed and I had to eat a day old bagel and the Nantucket Nectars Half and Half was out of stock.  Where were the juice guys?
  • You have to prepare for cold weather and it causes major inconvenience.   The heat needs no preparation.   Possibly even less preparation than normal.
  • Wind gusts seem to always be aimed directly at your face or other uncovered areas
  • Without boots, snow is always dampening socks and the bottom of my jeans stiffen.
  • Pipes freeze, glass cracks, heat and electric cost more, and general discomfort ensues.  It all sucks.

Freezing-temperatures

Winter, snow, and ice make everything outside shitty.  I can’t think of anything that I like about the cold except that it makes my bag of peanut M&M’s frozen in my car and they taste great.  This is the type of weather that makes me wonder why I don’t move to somewhere warm like Florida.

What Makes An Idea Good?

By |2014-01-21T15:39:12-05:00January 21st, 2014|My Brain|0 Comments

tumblr_ltqac2cw0D1qz6pqio1_500

The other day I wrote a post about 5 fears  I have.  JKash commented that he thought it was a decent post and I also thought it was a pretty good topic.  The odd thing about that post was that I constructed it quickly.  I was watching some nature show while I was running on the treadmill and they had video of snakes killing smaller creatures.  It frankly scared the shit out of me and I wondered if there were other things I could put together to fill out a post.  I’m always monitoring ideas that I can turn into a post.  As I walked home from the gym I came up with 4 other fears I had and that was the outline for the post.  I took my after gym shower and then sat down at my computer.  I immediately wrote down the 5 fears, accompanied them with pictures, then wrote a brief description about each.  Total post time was under a half hour.  Yet in this short amount of time, I was able to create an idea that was “good”.  Why can’t I always do this?

fish-bowl-backgrounds-wallpapers-481x350

Coming up with ideas for posts is both harder and easier than you think.  It’s easy if you take your time, monitor what happens around you for ideas, keep a log book of these interesting topics, and then expand on them appropriately.  For instance, right now I have almost 0 in the pipeline.  I probably have 40 drafts of ideas I’ve started but never come to fruition mainly because they aren’t that good.  Or they sound good at the time and I wait on them and they develop into shit.  Even though I have nothing brewing, that doesn’t mean I might not be able to produce a good post within the hour.  Post ideas strike at different times.  Sometimes my brain will be on active search for post ideas compared to others where I’m engrossed in something else.  So the easy part is that they can come quick but it’s hard because constructing something that is good is challenging.

To delve into why the fear post was good is a worthwhile exercise.

  • EVERYONE has fears.  The topic relates to every single person on the globe.  The post doesn’t relate to something specific like sports or a movie, it’s a universal feeling.
  • Short and sweet.  The post was around 300 words which is about a 2 minute read.  People get bogged down on longer text unless it’s truly gripping.
  • Visual pictures supported each description.   Even if you didn’t read the description, you still understood the post.  This would not be the case with this post.

It’s really that simple.  There was nothing fancy and the post made sense.  So now I have to take these concepts and apply them to every post that I write moving forward.  A lot of times I write posts like this one mainly for myself.  They help me break down the work myself while still sharing what goes through my head to this audience.  That’s why any feedback that comes in the comments is always helpful because it helps me improve my work.

26 Year Old Female Murdered in N. Liberties

By |2014-01-20T23:08:54-05:00January 20th, 2014|My Life|0 Comments

[blockquote source=”NBC Philadelphia”]

Amber Long, 26, and her mother, 50, were walking along the 900 block of Front Street in the Northern Liberties section of the city when they were ambushed by two robbers.

“One of the males snatched the mother’s purse from off of her shoulder and fled on foot. The second male, who was attempting to snatch the purse from the daughter, during the struggle, pulled out a gun and fired it one time, striking her in the chest,” said Captain James Clark who heads up the homicide division.

Officers rushed Long to Hahnemann Hospital where she died around 11:15 p.m.

[/blockquote]

I know and live by this area.  The map below will give you an idea in how close proximity I am.  It takes about 1.5 minutes to walk from 2nd to 3rd down Brown.

tchouse

Just a month ago I walked exactly through this Front St area on foot and thought to myself, “I wonder how safe it is right here?”  This girl made an obvious mistake during the hold up and didn’t surrender the $14 dollar purse without resistance.  This is a tremendous lesson to anyone reading this.  Your life is more important than any monetary value item.  People in this world are sick.  There’s no saying that these murderers weren’t amped on crystal meth and had no idea what they hell they were even doing.  To take a life over something so nominal is truly horrid.  The victim’s mother used the word “senseless” and I think that’s pretty spot on.  This is a scary ordeal all around.

To think I live within 5 minutes of this area is also troubling.  It is off the beaten path but still not far from my residence.  The location is essentially abandoned with some new construction currently being built.  It’s obviously not a spot where you walk at night.  The city isn’t the suburbs and that’s something that can never be forgotten because it can happen anytime and anywhere.  What happened to Amber isn’t something that you can prepare for, but you have to know it can happen.

My 5 Fears

By |2014-01-19T12:58:58-05:00January 19th, 2014|My Brain|3 Comments

 Don’t Be a Scaredy Cat!

scaredy cat
I’d like to think that I’m a tough guy but it’s not always the case.  There’s something about conquering fears that make you accomplished throughout your life.  Fears and leaving your comfort zone is growth in life.  Even knowing this, there are still a few things that make me shudder and it’s possible I’ll always have some fear of them.

The Fears

Heights

Workers on BridgeI hate the idea of being high enough off the ground that if you fall, you die.   This includes roofs, ladders, roller coasters, tall buildings, or airplanes.  This doesn’t mean that I don’t do things that include high heights, they just make me uncomfortable.  I sell roofing tools for a living and almost every roofer I know has some instance of falling.  There’s a reason why your body gives you the heebie jeebies every time you look down from somewhere high.  It’s because instinctively you know that one mistake is the end.

Electricityelectricity-from-environment

I dislike the idea of getting fried.  I don’t like being around lightning or unplugging electronics from old outlets.  A surge of electricity running through my body is not ideal.  I don’t even like turning off lights when my hands have water on them.  I’ve changed bulbs and ballasts in the past and I will always turn off the circuit because there is always a possibility of a shock if it’s not off. Benjamin Franklin can suck a d.

Religiongod-loves-you_1_

I can’t stand the idea of living my life for a figure that probably doesn’t even exist.  I accept all responsibility for myself and people who believe in God place all responsibility on God.   I’ve heard crazy talk like, this job I got is going to go well because god wants it to.  No!  The job will go well if you work hard and do it properly.  God doesn’t interfere because you say so.  I’m sure there are millions of people who live better lives because of their religious beliefs but there has to be some understanding of being grounded verses being reliant on a supernatural being.  People do crazy shit for their religious beliefs and that’s a scary thing.

rattlesnake_striking.imgSnakes

I hate snakes.  The idea behind a slithering reptile that can inject you with enough poison to kill you is plenty reason enough for me to stay away.  They are so low to the floor and fast as lightning that if I were ever in a life or death situation with a snake, I’d run.  I suppose you can grab it’s tale and give it a good helicopter toss but snakes are something I’d rather never have to deal with in my life time.  Each year in America some 6,000 to 8,000 people report venomous snakebite injuries, most by rattlesnakes.  This isn’t a huge number and only 10 or so actually die but let’s keep it that way.

Uncertainty

UncertaintyEasily the top fear.  Not knowing what is coming is the scariest thing on Earth. One day everything is going great and the next you get hit by a bus.  No one knows.  Uncertainly is what makes life both the best and the worst.  Uncertainty is always in the back of the mind though because it has to be prepared for.  It’s probably a paralyzing thought that shouldn’t enter one’s mind but at least being aware of it can’t be bad.

The Guy Wins Tennis Bets Too?!?!

By |2014-01-19T10:12:28-05:00January 19th, 2014|Sports|0 Comments

tennisThis Friday night the Shee and I were looking for some action and the Shee made mention of a tennis bet he won sometime in the past.  The Australian Open was being broadcast live at 9pm that night and seemed like a different form of entertainment.  The Shee constructed an 8 player parlay picking all the heavy favorites found below:

8 Team Parlay #330125386
Federer, R -5000 Jan 17/14@08:40p
Murray, A -1000 Jan 17/14@10:30p
Nishikori, K -750 Jan 18/14@03:00a
Nadal, R -1100 Jan 18/14@04:00a
Berdych, T -900 Jan 18/14@05:00p
Djokovic, N -5000 Jan 18/14@05:00p
Azarenka, V -2000 Jan 18/14@03:00a
Radwanska, A -500 Jan 17/14@08:50p

Needless to say, the 50 dollar bet won 50 dollars.  I should note that Radswanka was the only player to lose a SET!  I’m aware this isn’t big money but I stayed up late last night to watch Tomas Berdych put a beatdown on Kenny Anderson.  The strategy seems incredibly obvious but let’s get something straight, Serena was bounced from the tournament and I’m sure she was a bigger favorite than half of those lines.  Anything can happen.

This little story takes us into NFL Sunday with the 2 Conference championship games on the line.  The Broncos are giving 4 points to the Patriots and the Seahawks are giving a generous 3 to the 49ers.  Earlier in the week I put 100 dollars on both the Pats and the Niners so that I would guarantee I had some action on the games.  I did this because on Monday night I made a stupid bet of betting Butler against Creighton and lost 60 of the 400 I won the week before.  The goal of this bet was to juice the account but I actually was anti-juicing.  Fortunately the Shee won that cash back and I’m back where I finished last week at.

BlountManning

The Shee likes the Bronco’s in the 3pm game but I was already on the Pats.  Everyone remembers the Pats coming back from a 28-0 halftime deficit in week 12 and my gut tells me that this is going to be a close game.  One little point to remember is that the Pats had Gronk for that game and he was a huge contributor.  Gronk is obviously out but so is the Broncos starting cornerback Chris Harris.  In the second half of the Week 12 game, Brady didn’t throw a single pass towards Chris Harris do give an indication of how strong a player he is.  The Shee thinks that Manning is destined for the Superbowl but that doesn’t mean that they are going to cover the game.  LeGarrette Blount is coming off a 4 TD man’s game and Belichick is a stronger coach than John Fox.  I think it’ll be a very exciting game.

I have some cash on the 49ers too and I’m not even going to try and say I have a strong intuition either way on this game.  The Hawks looked great last week on defense against the Saints and their home field advantage is always in play.  Their offense though can be abysmal.  The 49ers have a strong coach in Jim Harbaugh but Pete Carroll is no slouch either.  Kapernick relies on his legs to move the chains at times and I don’t see Seattle giving that up too easily.  This means Kap will have to go through the air which means there is a greater chance for mistakes.  The way I see it, the offense of both teams will struggle and the Niners will cover the (large) 3 point spread in this game.  If that Pats do indeed win, I should have somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 on the Niners.   All house money.

Toughest Video Games Ever

By |2014-01-17T10:26:45-05:00January 17th, 2014|Childhood, My Brain|1 Comment

This post was spurred by this reddit thread about the subject matter of toughest video games. I sifted through the comments and my own childhood memory and came up with this list. I haven’t seriously played video games since college so most of my analysis of this list was done when I was between the ages of 6-13.  Being so young also probably made the games harder but maybe not.  Bud will reminisce this list with me.

Doom (1993)
Cyberdemon

Iddqd.  Do I really need to go further?  Without god mode and the cheat code for the BFG9000,  I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t have gotten past the first few levels.  This game was the first FPS shooter that gained widespread popularity.  I believe Wolfenstein appeared before Doom but  Doom was the pioneer for games like Quake and Unreal Tournament.  The blood was horrific in 1993 and compared to today’s standards it amazing at how much we’ve been desensitized. The screenshot brings up my worst Doom fears.

ToeJam and Earl (1991)

ToeJam &Earl

The two player mode picture to the right is exactly how I recall ToeJam and Earl on Sega Genesis.  The two player split screen was an awesome addition to this game.  The purpose was to find spaceship parts but I mainly remember doing a lot of standing around and feeling lost.  This doesn’t necessarily make the game hard but I don’t recall ever advancing.  The game reminds me of being lost without a GPS system.

Myst (1993)

Myst World

Another game that isn’t exactly hard in that it takes skill to advance, it’s just mentally exhausting hard.  There are literally no enemies and I think that  just frustrated me more.  I would spend hours walking around the island trying to figure out anything at all.  It was wandering with no purpose through a world that gave no direction.  This challenge was probably made more difficult because I was 10 but I made little progress in an extraordinary amount of time.

Bayou Billy (1989)

Adventures of Bayou Billy Crocs

I was given this game as a present and played it for about a week.  My recollection is that Billy had a knife and the crocs in the screen shot weren’t exactly easy to take down.  A driving sequence in a jeep also comes to mind as incredibly difficult.  I can’t recollect advancing past the first level or two.  After a while you just completely give up and never insert the cartridge into the machine again.

Marble Madness (1991)

Marble Madness

This was a fun game.  Time would wind down as you progress through mazes as a marble.  Difficulty level was hard to very hard.  Falling off was the norm and advancing levels not commonplace up to a certain point.  Amazingly there were only 6 levels and This was a game I never beat.

Ecco The Dolphin (1992)

Ecco The Dolphin Octopus

The main thing I about Ecco on Genesis was never getting passed the 2nd level.  On the back of the case and they had a picture of a whale that I always wanted to get to.  Problem was I couldn’t get past this Octopus level.  In the first level Ecco was joined by two dolphins and I would just do flips with them until I got bored.  We actually used this cartridge and jammed it into the Nintendo to keep the game down and help it work.  Ecco was forgotten about and retrieved years later.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989)

TMNT Electric Seaweed

Never came close to beating this game.  The electric seaweed was agonizing and if you were ever lucky enough to make it to the rooftop, your journey would end there.  Collecting pizza and disarming bombs comes to mind as challenges.  Raphael’s Sai’s were really short and once you lost Donatello, game over.  This game was when TMNT was huge and probably my favorite game for a period of time.  Those fucking tanks on the rooftop though.

Battletoads (1991)

Battletoads Bike Race

Battletoads was an awesome game and routinely mentioned among the hardest games ever.  Rash, Zitz, and Pimple will live on forever.  I can’t recollect ever beating the bike race level to the right.  There were only 3 continues and this level moved fast and the walls seemed to come out of nowhere to take you down.  A big hand punch brings back memories.  We loved this game though even though I never saw an ending.

I want to close with an incredible depiction of Spy vs Spy

The Grouper Experience

By |2016-10-29T13:16:16-04:00January 17th, 2014|My Life|2 Comments

Grouper-Logo-Design-by-Kyle-Miller-Creative

A grouper is a random connection with 6 people. 3 guys get connected with 3 girls and you pay $22 dollars for the matchmaking. I went on one about 2 weeks ago and the thought of $22 dollars never really entered my mind because it was something different. The first drink is on the bar but everything else you have to pay for. It makes sense that Grouper collects the majority of that money and the bar gets 6 customers. The money is secondary to the experience.

The last Grouper went very well. A good description of it can be found here. The one tonight was at Mac’s in Old City. I’ve been there on previous drunk occasions but not frequently. We arrived at around 7:55 when the concierge (Ashley)(Theories exist around Ashley) alerted us that the girls were running 10 minutes late. We grabbed a drink at the bar and passed the time. 3 blonde girls arrive through the door and as we are gazing from our bar stools, it was obvious these were the girls of our grouper. I’ll mention that it was very on the ball to alert us that they were going to be late.

First impressions were a solid 8.5+. Looks aren’t everything so there would never be a score that is a 10. We did our name introductions and I made sure to not forget any names from that point on. We were seated at the back of the bar in a table that looked like this.

Grouper

I sat on the inside of the booth and Evan and Aaron occupied seats 2, 3, while I sat in 6. We knew that a 3v3 wasn’t a good look and I would have liked to try an every other (it tries too hard) but this is a solid formation. Not overbearing but still mixing it up. We did the introductions and what happened this time was different than last time. Aaron (seat 2) 1v1 seat 1 and then Evan 1v1 seat 4. The previous time it was mostly 6 way for the majority of time but this was different. I 1v1 seat 5 out of social necessity and asked about occupation, location, and general background. She asked the same and we had good banter back and forth. After 10 minutes the group starting coinciding and conversation was flowing. I talked with the girl in the 1 spot about her job and traveling and that also went well. She asked one question about whether I liked to cook and I knew I was put on the spot. I told her honestly I don’t cook and take out more often than not. I knew the answer she was looking for but bullshitting it would come back in poor taste.

My one gripe about Mac’s and this Grouper location is that in my 6 seat, I had no means of communication with the 4 seat. I would glance over and try to get something going but with a person, at no fault of their own, blocking the eye sight, it wasn’t working. Grouper would learn from this comment. The girls were class acts. They all lived together and were friends and they had a nice chemistry between them. As I mentioned earlier they are big into cooking and it’s something that is fun for all involved. I can’t think of one negative to say about these women.

We picked up the tab which is such an obvious move that I’m not sure why it’s not expected. Why do I feel this way? Moving forward these girls are going to compare any Grouper to this Grouper. This is leaving a good taste in their mouth. I casually said that this was a lot of fun and they said that we were above expectations. I detected a certain amount of truth. Instinctively I’d guess 78% erring to the low side. The odd thing about a Grouper on Thursday night is that work is the next day. I would have happily stayed out but then again, I’m happy to write this post afterwards. It reminds me of this.

All in all it was a positive experience. I’m not sure what may come of it but it’s better than the alternative of doing nothing. I’m hoping that entries like this are better than previous material and any comments would boost viewership. Boosting this blog would be welcomed.
