Expectations

I try to keep up with one post a day each one of the weekdays and then whatever I can write on the weekends is bonus. Usually I like to have it up by 9am of the next day, so I know I missed that today. This is the main problem with getting into a routine of doing things when it concerns other people. For instance, people are let down when they check it first thing in the morning and I have the same post as I did yesterday. When you let people down they start to grow discontent and lose interest in you. This is exactly what happened to me with the homeless guy. For months and months I never gave him a dime and he never said a word. Then one day I gave him a buck and now it’s like I did something wrong when I don’t give him a dollar. If you never do anything at all, no one ever expects anything out of you. But once you give people something they want, they’ll always want it.

I thought the one quote from Dexter was really good. “Never lie to people you trust, and never trust people who lie.” I know this phrase is used all the time but trust can take a lifetime to build and a single moment to destroy. It’s hard to really find people you can trust because most people have themselves as their #1 priority and everything else is secondary. Trusting people has a few components. They don’t lie and they are reliable. Basically they say what they mean, and then they actually do what they say. If more people adhered to this logic, more people would get along.

I also came across a number of one liners which pretty much inspired this post:

  • Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
  • People can take work so seriously that it takes over their life and the realization that you can have all the money in the world but if you have no one to share it with, you aren’t rich at all. I think I do a poor job of staying in touch and I just always assume I’m capable by myself. It’s not until you need the help of others that you regret not doing this.

  • Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
  • The people who tend to do this are the people who are insecure with themselves.

  • Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
  • It always feels like I’m saving for something but I have no idea what it is. It makes me want to live a bit more spontaneously and start doing things that maybe feel out of my comfort zone and not worrying that it costs this much and yadda yadda. Why am I so sold on the fact that I want to save my money for when I’m old and have to use it on stupid shit that I won’t enjoy nearly as much as I would now? Next stop, Delilahs.

  • Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.
  • I personally will never wear purple and this bout against what people think should really play no role in decision making. I however just don’t like the color purple and will choose to never wear it.

  • What other people think of you is none of your business…
  • Goes with the above, let people talk, they shouldn’t influence your decisions.

  • If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.
  • I can honestly say I don’t have a single problem in my life right now. I’m healthy, have good friends, good family and no lingering issues. I’ve purposely set my life up like this and it’s probably about time I’ve developed some. Since I don’t have any problems it probably means I’m not doing anything worth doing.

The final line was “friends are the family we choose for ourselves.”

    Notice Me

Jkash said the blog has been sucking lately and it’s because I’m not mentioning him enough in it. If I knew it was that easy to make a good blog by adding his name, I’d be happy to add it every sentence. I find it pretty funny that people like the recognition and I should probably personalize the blog more often because I think that will generate some loyal readers. So be on the look out for random name inputs to make people feel important. Hafer, my apologies for not getting in touch with you while I was in Va. Dooley, my apologies for not wanting to go to Pittsburgh but I don’t like the city that much and I’m 5 years out of college and that part of my life is finished. Laura, yes I use exclamation points but like you noticed it’s a rarity, however if you can’t get excited for Tee Shirt time, I don’t know when else an exclamation point it warranted. Let me know if you want to go with us to see Jwoww. I’ll write CK4 just to give him his ego boost. That’s all for now and I have a tremendous idea of drunk video blogs and this might be excellent documentation of how fucked up I get on weekends and I’m happy to share with the world. I know this could put my professional career in jeopardy and people won’t be able to take me seriously, but it’s for the good of my viewers. Till then.

    Tee Shirt Time

Jess Baker, nice comment on the last post, the tee shirt time would be a pretty funny trademark to open every football game with. Huck, if your on a heater, share the wealth and just let me know who to take. I’m pretty much just monkey throwing a dart at a selection of games. That addresses my comments as I wrote on Sam’s wall, everyone gets anxious to read the comments on posts but people don’t like taking the time to write them, so I obviously will address them when people write them.

There have been some developments in Green Lane lately which I hesitate to bring up but I think are too funny not to. Evan has a co-worker who isn’t so well versed in the English language and whenever he asks Evan how to do something and he gives him the answer, he responds with “that’s what I was thinking.” Obviously this isn’t what you were thinking if you didn’t know how to do it. So this has pretty much taken our comments by storm and for whatever reason this line can find a barrel of laughs time and time again. Basically if I post questions like why the fuck would you do that, the right response is always “that’s what I was thinking.” Just give it a try it’s pretty hilarious.

The Shee and I also find the Pauly D “Oh Yeah’s” hilarious. Anytime during football and there’s a big play you just erupt into “OH YEAH, BIG PLAY, OH YEAH.” The voice obviously has to accompany it but this is also hilarious. Spontaneous “CABS ARE HERE,” are also acceptable. Jwoww is coming to Mad River next Tuesday and I’d expect a pretty big turn out. It’s only Jwoww but still, it’s going to bring a huge crowd. 2 of the 3 bartenders I know who usually serve me cheap alcohol are no longer employed there so I’m on a new mission to find new friends who will serve me cheap booze. It’s been a while since I’ve had this issue but paying full price at Mad River can get pricey so I need to work quickly to find some cohorts.

To some not as entertaining news, I watched Weeds too which I thought wasn’t too bad but nothing really happened in the episode. I feel like they are just kind of stringing along a season with nothing really happening. It’s entertaining but not necessarily anything I’d call a good show. I thought Boardwalk Empire was kind of weak with not much really going on. I hate to say it but this show better start developing fast because I feel like the action is a bit stale. Dexter was decent but I wish they would have strung along Boyd to another episode and maybe gave him more abilities than just a one and done kill for Dex. The sideplot with the heads seems sort of dumb but I’m not going to make any sure thing comments because this show seems to get better as it goes along. I also watched Kenny Powers and they just missed the mark a little bit. He’s still funny and I love how he refers to the people as villagers but it doesn’t have as good as a plot as the first season. That’s it for TV and my fantasy team was 3-1 this week and I have +.500 records in all 4 leagues which is pretty good. I’ll be away for Wed and Thur so my updates may not be there, but my traffic has been weak anyway so I’m not sure too many people will be very concerned.

    8 Minutes

I set my alarm for 6:52 this week. On Monday, I woke up and hit the snooze a time a two, for some unknown reason my blackberry snooze is every 5 minutes. So I end up into my car at 7:15. Green Lane is already backed up past our driveway and then the entrance to Kelly dr is backed up for, I’d guess 50 cars. Tuesday I’m in my car by 7:09 and I’m greeted with the same scenario. So today I get up when my alarm goes off and an in my car by 7:01. No backup on Green, none on the way to Kelly and it took me around 35 minutes and that even includes stopping at Dunkin Donuts. Today’s drive was perfect and I wonder if it’s because Wednesday’s are lighter traffic days or if those few minutes make the difference. Personally I think the minutes make the difference because in people’s minds 6 am is different than 7 am. The mental state behind it being 6 in the morning compared to 7 is the explanation behind the back ups. In my opinion, when people are leaving to go to work when I am, they most likely have an 8am start time. If they are on the road at 7:15 it’s early and they have plenty of time to manage traffic. They don’t need to be on the road any earlier than that. Considering more people probably have 8am start times than 7am, it makes sense why 7am would have considerably less traffic then 7:15. Just my whacked out opinion on traffic but since you deal with it every day, it’s something to comment on.

The other problem with morning commutes is the music today was awful. At one point I was listening to It’s Alright by Kenny Loggins because it was easily the best song playing. I actually like this song but for it to be by far and away the best was hard to take. There’s a song called Percussion Gun that is so awful and still gets play time on AltNation. Pink, Pat Benetar, Travie McCoy, and Justin Timberlake were clogging up the airwaves today. It’s so obvious that they should create a new station where you have one person pick out the music and he can pick out whatever he wants based on his personal music tastes. The stations are all geared to a specific genre of music. They should make it so you have a personality who speaks every so often so you can personalize with the dj and if he likes the music, there’s a good chance you will too. I feel like they have a list of songs that get shuffled and a lot of old boring crap is played. I actually intend to give this suggestions to Sirius because I know they have guests who do this from time to time but I want stations devoted to it. They had Mark Hoppus from Blink who was doing this and even though I’m not a huge Blink fan, he had good taste in music and it’s cool to hear what a talented artist thinks is good music.

New subject. Monday, for the first time ever ,the guy who opens the doors at Dunkin Donuts asks me for change. Now this came as a bit of surprise to me because I never knew he was looking for change, I just figured he liked to hold the door and wear a bright colored traffic vest for nothing. So I actually tipped my change on Monday so I didn’t have anything to give him. On Tuesday I eat my breakfast somewhere different but today as I was driving right past DD, I heard the song “Change” by Tears for Fears. This sparked my brain to give change to the guy. So I went in and he wasn’t there. After I ordered and got my food, he appeared out of nowhere to open the door. I had already tipped my change again so I went to my car, got a buck, and gave it to him and said something stupid like “you do a good job.” A smile ran across his face and I expect to have good karma for the rest of the day.

Finally random rant. The way that Guitar Hero is ruining songs, I feel like Glee is having the same effect. It’s not in the same way because Guitar Hero would ruin songs by making you play them repeatedly until you got sick of them. This is a common thing with songs because once you hear them too much, they start to get on your nerves. Sad to say I thought Teenage Dream was pretty good and now it just bothers the hell out of me. What Glee does is opens the eyes of their fan base, I would guess middle, high school & college students and makes them aware of some pretty good songs out there. I actually think that they make some of the songs better as was the case with “losing my religion” by REM. But I also think they can ruin songs like “Only the Good Die Young” by Billy Joel. I was thankful they didn’t sing any Christopher Cross songs last week because that could have nationalized the popularity of a gem in “Ride Like the Wind.”

Final paragraph goes out specifically to my brother Sam who I think might like this band because they play the type of music who I believe he may find likable. They are XTC and I don’t believe it’s because of the drug.

    Riverpalooza 2010

Believe it or not, I don’t really have any good stories from the day. The ticket endeavor worked like a charm as we were able to get rid of every ticket for a 10 dollar price. I probably gave back 50 or so during the day but without the bartenders, we wouldn’t have been able to make it work. I think we got to Mad River at about 2:30 and it was already starting to get crowded. By 5 it was completely packed. The bands were pretty good and despite some repeats of songs, everyone was enjoying themselves. To my recollection I had 3 beers before we got there at 2:30, another 6 or so while we there and tack on a shot and probably about 4 mind erasers. I can remember 4 specifically so that tally could easily be 6. By 7 I was in front of the band and decided to find out where everyone went and I was the only person there. At that point I walked back and got some beef lo mein from the Chinese place. When I got back there was Jeff, Mael, and Julie and I think it was around 8 or so. We played some quarters and by 10:30 I wasn’t functioning properly anymore. I’m usually pretty good at quarters and I literally couldn’t make a shot and most of them were going directly into the table and not bouncing anywhere. At that point I made a wise decision and passed out at around 10. If I would have gone out I would have been asking for trouble and at that point, it was the right move. So I don’t have anything wildly entertaining from the day but I still thought it was a good time.

My fantasy teams had a 2-2 week with wins coming in leagues I needed wins in and losses in leagues I could afford them. The turkeys, without my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks still managed 120+ points but lost to Evan to give him his first win. (baring Chad Henne throwing 4 picks and 0 yards.) The Nuts also lost in a lackluster performance but the Terminators dominated and the Mind Erasers also had a big week being led by TO. Plus my eliminator in the Chargers won with ease. I also had one bet this week on the Giants and I am now up 30 bucks on the season moving into week 5.

I’m not going to give a big rundown of shows although I did watch all my normal Sunday TV. I actually wasn’t really impressed with any of them. Dexter seems to be off on a weird tangent with avg story lines developing. Eastbound and Down made a wise decision to bring Stevie back because he really is the best character on the show. Family Guy was one of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen and they should stick to making people laugh rather than political humor. Boardwalk empire was one of those, is anything going to happen episodes and I didn’t really find it all that entertaining. Weeds is tonight and I really enjoyed the last episode and hope that tonight’s is equally good.

Ambler bball tonight to move to 3-0. Other than that everything is pretty normal and with cold weather moving in, the season’s are changing. I know this isn’t the most exciting post but it’s early in the week and I tend to function poorly in the beginning and get better as the days move along.

    Door Opening and Tix

When it’s two guys together and there is a door to open, it’s not OK for one of the guys to open the door for the other guy. The proper procedure is for the guy in front to open the door, walk through, and then push the door open after he has walked through it to show courtesy. Unless your a homo, you don’t open doors for regular guy friends.

So tonight seems like another get fucked up night which I’m somewhat regretting because I plan on day drinking tomorrow. Now I don’t have so much of a problem drinking tonight, waking up, and then doing more drinking in the afternoon. I know I’m physically capable of performing that but the difference lies in the functionality of my body when comparing two situations. If I didn’t drink tonight and started to drink at noon tomorrow, I could probably steadily drink for 8+ hours and I’d be able to remember the majority. However, if I get lit tonight, then I’ll wake up at noon still feeling drunk and the first couple beers will immediately regenerate the buzz, thus leaving me with less drinking time and a much higher blackout chance. It’s a catch-22 because staying in on Friday’s is lame but I’m running a risk of getting out of hand on Saturday, we’ll see.

I also want to post that if you are planning on going to Riverpalooza and you read my blog and you don’t have tickets to get in, you can call me and I have a few extra that I’ll happily sell you at a discount compared to paying full price at the door. I find these outside, afternoon events are great fun because everyone, literally everyone, is getting wasted and is in good spirits. My # is 215-694-2438 so you can either text or call me and I should be able to help you out.

    Gym again

So with the weather taking a turn and running season finished, it’s time to start hitting the indoor gym. I prefer the nice weather and running outside to the gym but there’s really not to many alternatives to staying in shape in the fall/winter. The main difference between the gym and solitary running is the interaction with people. Now my prime time social skills are between 3-6 beers. At this time I’m coherent, I’m still quick witted, and I my listening skills are still intact. Between beers 6-12 I can still function but listening skills fade and instead of thinking, I just say the first thing that pops into my brain. Anything more alcohol than this and it’s unrecognizable blabber, although I could probably still function 15+. Now what sobriety level did I purposely leave out? Being sober.

Naturally when you go to the gym you are sober so interaction is done on a sober level. I have no problem dealing with customers at work when I’m sober but real social interaction is not my forte. Everything for me just always feels forced and it’s like I’m pretending to care. So I obviously wouldn’t be writing about this unless something happened. So I try to make as little eye contact as possible in the gym to avoid conversation but I caught a straight gaze right into the eyes of a girl I’ve known for a long time growing up. She obviously knew me and was wearing head phones so I think she was trying to play it off with a smile and hoping I’d go away but with an obvious acknowledgment of “I know you”, I wanted to say hello. So I walk over and she takes off her head phones and I open with “I haven’t seen you in a long time and I didn’t know you come to this gym…she answers, I ask “where are you living?” She replies with “the city”, I remark with a brilliant follow up “how long have you been there?” She looks at me and says “3 years…” So now I’m thrown off because I’m sure I’ve seen her in the past three years and knew she lived in the city but I couldn’t just walk away on this oddball question. Her sister was in my grade so now I’m scrambling for topics and ask about her. I knew she was married and just had a kid so I asked about that and she told me her younger brother just got married and has a kid on the way so I make another awesome remark “so you’re the odd person out in your family whose not married.” Not only do I use the word person, which I purposely did instead of man but she said she also has a younger brother whose not married yet which I should have known. My questions also was like I was implying “whats wrong with you, you’re not married yet?” So after that I decided it was best to cut my losses and exit stage left. She said tell your family I said hi and I think I muttered something like “yeah right, sure I will” in a sarcastic way that I didn’t really mean to come off like. Another hilarious tidbit was this was the sister of the girl who I saw in Sam’s club and gave one of my best lines ever when I asked her and her husband if they live in a house? This obviously brought about some dumbfounded looks.

Ahh, back to the gym. A place where I get to demonstrate my impressive social skills amongst people who I rarely ever see. It’s funny too because there’s no reason I should behave like a weirdo but once I feel like the conversation is turning or has already turned or I’ve run out of things to say, I start to panic and then usually just make things worse by looking for a way out. I’m actually not so much of a retard but this was pretty close to reality. I’m considering sending this link to the girl so she can read it and see how I perceive situations. I’m sure that would make for an interesting human experiment and see if she saw things this way. She should probably write an entry from her perspective to see if she saw things my way.

    Another Weekend

So I’ll start with our Football game as I find these to be pretty easy to write about and I think they have decent entertainment value. Let me start with the phrase “appearance’s can be deceiving.” The team we played were all white and didn’t seem all that athletic, that is until on the first play one of their guys burned Bake down the field for a TD. So it was one play into the game and they were up 7-0. I don’t really need to break it down possession by possession but the bottom line is that we got dominated by a physically inferior team who played the game much better than us. Our defense is atrocious and, in my opinion, it’s due to poor matchups and the unknown of where our safety’s should play (if we should even have safeties). I’ve made the point that everyone likes to play safety because they have no responsibilities and it just doesn’t work. I guess my thought is to think that we can implement a zone in the first season, without any practice is a complete joke, and if we put our best coverage guys on their best players, rather than just pick a guy to cover, it might be helpful. Also to note is I would have had a TD but I let Jess Baker take whatever little glory was left considering it was the end of the game and we were down 40-20 or so. Considering it’s just a fun league though, I really don’t get too worked up over any of it.

My fantasy games went ok and I have a few riding on tonights action. The Turkey’s should move to 3-0 if Greg Jennings get’s less than 33 points in our PPR league. The Nuts are a slight dog, I think, because I’m only up 16 points with Jennings and Green Bay’s D but it’s no PPR. The Terminators are a toss up with me being up 50 points but up against 5 players in tonight’s game. And the Mind Erasers put up a good number but have no chance of winning. On the wagering front, I moved on with a Colt victory in the Eliminator and have lost exactly 0 dollars for the season with all my bets. I have little urge to re-deposit and consider it a job well done to have lost no money in 3 weeks.

I watched a load of TV yesterday because I felt awful from the weekend. I pretty much should give up alcohol but since Riverpalooza is this Saturday, this isn’t going to be the weekend. CK4 and I are running a ticket racket again so if you need some tickets, I can probably save you a buck or two. Back to TV though, I watched Family Guy, Eastbound and Down, Boardwalk Empire, and Dexter on Sunday night and I’ll give my quick opinions on each just because.

It’s apparent to me that Family Guy has come a long way in the past 10 years. Sunday’s episode was the Season Premier. The graphics on the show are a significant upgrade to how I remember and I was sort of surprised to see the show like that. If you watch a lot of episodes maybe you’ll know what I mean because it had a different feel to it. Brian and Stewie steal the show for me though and I didn’t find a huge amount of laughs but I still find the show amusing. Stewie and the outfit had me rolling and the Peter / Lois interaction was great especially with the hot wheels.

Eastbound and Down struck out for me. They relied on peculiar characters to try to win the audience over and it was sort of lame. I didn’t really think anything was all that great but I liked when Kenny was talking about Big Red and how “Aaron,” a hilarious name by the way, had the nerve to rob him during Big Red’s funeral. I liked when he referred to Hector as “Mice and Men” and the donkey picture taking scene was pretty funny. The baseball closing was dumb I thought. The show didn’t live up to the hype in my mind.

I find Boardwalk Empire to be a quality show. Steve Buscemi as Nookie? is just really fine acting. Not too much is happening but I think they are setting up a lot of story lines and I like where the show is going. They have a lot of strange shaped tits too.

Dexter premiere aired too and I don’t think they knocked it out of the park with the premier but, once again, it’s a lot of setting up story lines. Rita off the show is obviously a bummer but I’m sure it won’t take away too much. I thought Dexter’s acting throughout the episode was unusual. I know he’s supposed to be acting weird but it just seemed weirder on another level. The kill scene seemed forced too but I guess they were just showing what type of emotional level Dexter was at. I thought that Astor did the best acting in the episode when she was crying and yelling at Dexter. Sucks it’s a week to week show but at least it’s an hour.

I’ll have another post tonight depending on the outcome of our bball game so tune in.

    Iq Test

So I went to IQtest.com and took the 38 question test. It took me 15 minutes or so and at the end they asked for $9.95. This isn’t something that I normally would pay for but after spending the time I figured what the hell. I know I’m not the smartest person around and I did pretty shitty on my SAT’s so I wasn’t expecting much. Obviously, I wouldn’t be posting if I scored terribly low so I know you are all waiting in suspense. I posted a 129 IQ with some off the chart readings in spatial skill and visual apprehension. I was lacking in computational speed which was understandable as some of the questions I sat there thinking like a tard. Here is my lengthy breakdown if anyone cares. Also if you want to comment on how you did if you did, that’s always welcome. I also want to point out that if I’m so smart, how am I injuring myself in ways that are unbeknownst to the common folk. I think I made that word up.

    General IQ Score

Your General IQ Score of 129 shows how able your mind is in general. Anyone with a General IQ Score this high is considered to be of above average intelligence. This score is better than 97.34% of all persons taking this test. Most occupations can be comprehended with a General IQ this high. You should be able to handle almost all academic challenges.

You scored higher than your General IQ Score in 7 individual ability categories. None of these better scores could be called statistically significant.
    Arithmetic

Solving many of the IQ Test’s problems required the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers mentally. Many mental tasks require arithmetical operations even though numbers may not be involved, and thus number manipulation abilities can strongly indicate general intelligence.

Your Arithmetic IQ score of 127 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 96.41% of all persons taking this test.
    Spatial Skill

Understanding what changes will occur when conditions vary is a deep and powerful ability of the mind. All invention and creativity of every sort is based upon this ability. Although test problems usually involve manipulation of objects in space, persons with a stronger ability to spatially manipulate can also be expected to use this ability to be able to better predict how social and psychological situations would change due to variation.

Your Spatial Skill IQ score of 137 is exceptionally higher than your General IQ score. This score is better than 99.32% of all persons taking this test.
    Logical

This is the ability to determine if a set of rules has been correctly followed. This ability is most useful in combination with other mental skills listed above. Those with strong logical ability are quicker to see where a given set of conditions is going to lead, have a strong sense of justice, and better understand–from an intellectual analysis–the benefits of harmony.

Your Logical IQ score of 132 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 98.36% of all persons taking this test.
    Spelling

The ability to spell can indicate general intelligence. Remembering a set sequence of letters indicates the mind’s ability to retrieve remembered facts. Learning how to spell and use the words of a language is almost a complete IQ test in itself. Although poor spellers with high IQ scores can be found, it is rare, and in general–everything else being equal–the better spellers have higher IQ scores.

Your Spelling IQ score of 129 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 97.34% of all persons taking this test.
    Short Term Memory

The ability to remember things for a short period of time allows the mind to check back and retrieve facts needed to complete a problem solving operation. This ability becomes more critical when problems have many aspects that need consideration and/or need to be solved mentally. This ability strongly determines how efficiently one handles the many aspects of normal life. If your short term memory ability is strong you are much less likely to seem inattentive or “slow to get it” to others.

Your Short Term Memory IQ score of 128 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 96.90% of all persons taking this test.
    Rote Utilization

This is the ability to take a set of memorized facts and mentally extract and/or operate with or upon the facts within the set that are pertinent to the problem at hand. Persons with more of this ability can be expected to spell well, remember telephone and other numbers easily, be more adroit in procedural operations, and have a stronger foundation for tasks that require the use of memorized material.

Your Rote Utilization IQ score of 130 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 97.72% of all persons taking this test.
    Algebraic

This is the ability of the mind to abstractly handle quantities and qualities. Persons who are strong in this ability can more quickly and more deeply understand analogies, stories, derivations, equalities, and hierarchical structures.

Your Algebraic IQ score of 131 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 98.06% of all persons taking this test.
    General Knowledge

Knowledge that is casually picked up and remembered can indicate intelligence, because persons with higher intelligence will exhibit greater retention of those pieces of information that are encountered less often. Because higher intelligence allows a person to have a deeper appreciation of the connectivity of facts that may seem disparate to others of lesser intelligence, memory of such facts becomes easier.

Your General Knowledge IQ score of 130 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 97.72% of all persons taking this test.
    Visual Apprehension

This is the ability of the mind to mentally picture visual information and to be able to extract portions of that information for separate use. A person whose visual apprehension is strong enjoys a richer, more creative appreciation of visual aspects of experiences.

Your Visual Apprehension IQ score of 137 is exceptionally higher than your General IQ score. This score is better than 99.32% of all persons taking this test.
    Geometric

How well one can comprehend geometric relationships of lines, sides, planes, angles, and topological properties strongly determines one’s ability to make sense of visual information. The strength of one’s geometric ability can strongly determine how quickly knowledge can be absorbed if it is presented visually.

Your Geometric IQ score of 134 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 98.83% of all persons taking this test.
    Vocabulary

Knowing the meaning of words is an ability that directly increases along with the increase of general intelligence. The meaning of a word is more easily remembered with higher intelligence, because it takes more intelligence to understand and correctly use words based upon the subtle differences between words with similar meanings and to comprehend difficult concepts which are sometimes symbolized by a single word.

Your Vocabulary IQ score of 127 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 96.41% of all persons taking this test.
    Intuition

Intuition is defined as that ability of the mind to develop answers to questions without consciously dealing with the problem at hand. Often a question will provoke your mind to answer without using conscious processing time, and the answer is said to come “out of the blue” or “suddenly, it just struck me”. Of all the many abilities of the mind, this is one of the most often used. Just knowing what to do is often an automatic process that occurs without much conscious figuring. Those with stronger intuition make less mistakes and can seem luckier, wiser, or more mature.

Your Intuition IQ score of 128 is not significantly different from your General IQ score. This score is better than 96.90% of all persons taking this test.
    Computational Speed

If you can correctly solve a variety of problems faster than another person, you may be demonstrating a generally more orderly internal arrangement of your mind’s problem solving methods. While speed cannot be the sole factor in determining overall superiority in one mental operations, in general faster computational speed will often indicate that a problem’s comprehension was more complete. With everything else being equal, a person with faster computational speed than another person’s will be better at tasks that require the synthesis of many bits of information.

Your Computational Speed IQ score of 109 is significantly lower than your General IQ score. This score is better than 72.57% of all persons taking this test.

    Lax

I know I haven’t been updating this as frequently as I was earlier, but I still was in line for the most posts ever for a month in August. I’m pretty much built on routine and when I alter from the routine, sometimes things don’t get done and this blog is one of them. My routine is to write these entries before I go to sleep on a Monday-Thursday basis and anything else I do is just additional. Since I’ve changed this, I don’t really find time to write. There’s no real good reason for the change except that sometimes I find that what I post is interesting to my readers, and other times I think I just don’t have much to say. This recent few weeks have been the latter.

As of late I’ve been waking up earlier and going to sleep earlier. This means that I’ve been spending more time at work and less time for things that I’d rather be doing. I’ve been waking up at 6:30 to beat any sorts of traffic which I know is just going to get worse once next week rolls around. Then when I get home I’ve been running longer runs which just take up more time. So by the time I eat it’s already later than 7 and I’ve been playing a lot of poker so that’s been occupying my free time and the blog has been pushed aside. I think it’s fairly obvious why I push it aside and it’s the reason why 90% of people don’t have a blog. It takes a fair amount of time and effort for virtually no reward. It actually might have a negative effect because anyone who reads this knows exactly what I’m thinking and I’m an open book. So I just wanted to justify to anyone who visits this page on a daily basis for why I’ve had a lack of updates and to assure you that I’m not quitting my blog, but I just can’t update as routinely as I may like.

So enough complaining, I’ll actually bring some material to this post. My family went out to dinner for Sam’s B-day on Monday and I have a thing with sitting in the bar by myself. I’m a punctual person and plan my schedule around being punctual, so I always err to the early side than the late whereas my dad is the other way around. This brings me situations where I’m the first person there waiting on the group to arrive. So I get to the restaurant where we are going to eat about 15 minutes early and I’m acutely aware that I’m going to be sitting at the bar alone with this uncomfortable feeling. So I get to the parking lot and rather than just barge right in, I hem and haw in my car for a minute or two, check my phone, things to reduce the amount of alone bar time. Eventually I go in and take a seat and order a drink and then I just sit there watching TV acting as normal as I can. Striking up conversation with random 50 years old’s isn’t my style so I just sit and drink my beer. I know that that’s what people do all the time, just go to a bar and have a drink without any social interaction but I just feel uncomfortable sitting and doing nothing when everyone around you all know each other and act like best friends. I would never have the feeling of being by myself and wanting to go to the bar to have a few drinks just for the interaction. I’d prefer to just drink by myself than to meet and greet the regulars. Eventually the group came and the story ends but I just wanted to share my feelings on drinking alone at the bar.

Another interesting topic was that my sister’s bf sent me an article on how Old City was becoming an area of sloppiness and debauchery and considering we own a building in Old City, this was of interest. Hilariously enough at one point the article was pointing out how the business crowd had been replaced with skanks and guys in cargo shorts and untucked polo’s. I had to laugh a second because I’m pretty sure I fit the description to a tee. Not only in the attire but the crowd they were describing was about people looking for cheap drink specials to get completely bombed out of their mind. So after reading it I had to agree that the article was spot on and that I was one of the people who was helping to create that atmosphere. Certainly something I’m not proud of when they correlate this to dropping real estate prices in this specific area.

Aside from these two barely amusing thoughts, things have been fine and I’ve been feeling good. Works been a little slow but considering this is the last vacation week, it’s to be expected. I have a few ideas for posts in the works so hopefully I will be able to supply some captivating material which has been alluding me.
