Ck4 and I played Avalon Golf Course on Wednesday morning as a twosome. Little did we know who we were about to be paired with, Joe Bastardi and his son. Going into the round I had no idea who Joe Bastardi was but Ck4 was absolutely giddy. He was the weatherman for AccuWeather for 30 years and apparently left and started out on his own. He was an absolutely fascinating guy who has quite a personality. He was talking to me in the beginning and saying things like “what do you think happens when the carbon dioxide levels in the northern hemisphere merge with the ridge and the trough and injection into cold fronts.” I just stared at him and said you aren’t speaking my language. He was very intelligent and a super nice guy. His 15 year old son shot in the 70’s to boot. Plus he’s a body builder so his muscles were as big as my head. The round was pretty entertaining and even though neither of us played particularly well, it was pretty fun.
