So the readers of my blog probably aren’t the target audience of a weather blog, but I was happy to post the weather entry to show someone who actually has a passion for something. All the weather jargon is probably over heads and predicting storms a week away on data that can be interpreted as “bad data” seems a bit foolish, but nevertheless the drive and effort is there. I’ve come to a rather obvious conclusion that in order to be truly successful, you have to love what you do. People who make it generally are good at what they do and that’s because they genuinely like doing it. I watched the Katy Perry bio on E and she got shut down multiple times before breaking through. Yes I obviously have a huge crush on her but she just comes off as a real person who made it big due to a lot of hard work and dedication.
Since this is my blog I can give an honest opinion of myself. First off, there have to be a lot of people out there who fall in the category that even if you do love something, you’re probably not ever going to be good enough to make a living at what you like to do. I don’t care how much I love golf, I’m not making the PGA. So the “go after your dream” is somewhat bullshit depending on your abilities. I really ask myself what I like to do and I usually just come up with a lot of middling ideas that will never lead to anything. I think it would be a lot easier if I just sucked at everything but was just good at one specific thing, instead of falling into mediocrity at various topics. I have some talent but it’s mostly just wasted. A very fitting line I might add.
