I went to the track yesterday and ran 3 miles. I was 5:40, 5:47, 5:38 for each mile. I think that proves that I’m in decent 5k shape but my endurance on longer runs isn’t there, so I still have to work that into my schedule. I’ve developed some nice blisters on my feet because of my weird running style and old shoes, so I’m going to have to take a day off to heal. It amazes me how much better shape I’m in now then when I was in college. I think it’s just the routine that allows it. It’s like robotic after my work day, I have to put forth the time to exercise and without it I feel like a waste. The whole idea of a routine makes this life a bit wacky. I try to wake up at the same time everyday. I go to the same places for breakfast and lunch and order the same thing every time. You have no idea how many Nantucket Nectar Half and Half’s I’ve drank or everything bagels with cream cheese I’ve eaten. Also anytime I go to WaWa for breakfast I eat their philly steak & egg breakfast sandwich and it’s never a disappointment. I’ve actually considered scheduling my work day with specific times to do specific things. Like 9am – 10am I should make 10 sales calls. From 10am – ? add / edit content for the website. I feel like some structure helps keep you on track and can probably assist in accomplishing more. That being said, after writing that I’m mostly conservative yesterday, I don’t think it should come as a shock that I don’t like altering things from my normal schedule. I’m not like Rainman where I’m not able to change things but just feel more comfortable with the way I like to do things.
I’ve gotten back into poker for the time being. I’ve played about 2,000 hands in the last week or so and have been breakeven which is good because I was down to start off. I feel really comfortable 4 tabling the 25nl and I’m pretty sure I’m developing a winning style and feel confident I’ll be moving up limits once I win enough at this level to make me feel as if I’m ready to move up. The key will be to have good bankroll mgmt over the weekend while I’m drinking and not piss the money away. I can tell that after watching some OMGClayAiken videos that I’m way more aggressive than most players at that level and now it’s just going to be refining my game. I’m hoping I can make some supplemental income with this because I am putting forth the effort to try to improve my game. I will keep a record in this blog of how I’m doing but won’t dwell on it too much because I know it’s not the most interesting subject for some. Sorry these weekday posts aren’t filled with action. I also want to thank “tall guy” for the feedback and I’m glad that I can fill in as a #2 activity to distract you from work.
Tall Guy is Stackhouse from Hughesville who I believe you may never have met and/or don’t remember meeting way back in the day. Just one of the few people that I have referred to this Blog…(cough)…I feel a cut coming back my way.
I’m aware. Your cut can be whatever % you want but FYI, 100% of 0 is still 0.
