I remembered another incredible gaming moment from the 90’s. I would argue this initial simultaneous multi-player game format became the basis for so many of Nintendo’s future successes (MarioKart64, GoldenEye, Mario Party…). Gauntlet may have been its only multi-player competition at the time.

Tom, I cannot believe you mentioned ‘spoon! I was literally just thinking about him yesterday while driving home from work. I even had to pull up his statistics before I got home, I was that curious about him and I have no idea what made me even think of him. I used to love him. I’ll always remember this amazing alley-oop he caught from Dana Barros at the end of a game against the Cavs (I believe at the time they were even worse than us), sending it into overtime. And Barros making a crazy shot to win that game I think. Or maybe it was the other way around. Either way it was awesome!! I think Sharon Wright has to go down in Sixers history as being far less relevant and less of a “face of the franchise,” as you mentioned, Clarence was our “star” for a period, sigh.

Duck Tales was the best. I wonder if there is a correlation between the number of people who grew up watching that show that went on to be venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in the 90’s…

TaleSpin and Darkwing Duck were pretty damn spectacular too. Our childhood was a whole “duck-related” era now that I think about it…(Howard the Duck, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, The Mighty Ducks, Quack Pack…). Maybe it is because we all grew up playing “Duck Hunt” on NES…
