The REAL money will be in 3D printer servicing. These things will clog, dirty, etc. so fast they will be basically inoperable after a few uses without regular maintenance and attention.

Eventually Stortz will only sell handles. Contractors will produce the specific (and disposable) tool they need for the next 2-5 hours of work on the roof itself – printed from a machine. Tool breaks – print another. The labor will be responsible for the calibration to their immediate needs – and the manufacturer will no longer produce or provide objects – but files, plans and licensing for the contractor to input into the machine.

But you could be right – considering printer toner costs for than oil per ounce….
