I’m going to assume that most people didn’t hear the Chris Martin interview on Howard Stern. In fact, I bet most people probably are either too cheap to pay for Sirius or if they do, think Howard is crude, rude and just a bad person that isn’t worth listening to. If you’re like my mom, you think both. I’m going to come right out and say it, I’m a Chris Martin fan after this interview and Howard is one of the best interviewers on the planet. His interviews are real and the interviewee starts to act like themselves instead of putting on a show for whatever audience some random TV program is trying to appeal to. A little FYI that no one will have any idea what I’m talking about, Brett Ratner was replaced as the Oscars producer for some comments he made on Howard’s show Monday about how he had huge balls and he made all his girlfriends get checked out before he went out with them. Anyway, back to Chris Martin, I’ve never really been a huge Coldplay fan. I sort of lumped them in with the Dave Matthew’s fanboys and didn’t give them a chance. I also thought their music was for sissy’s and gays. Some time a few years ago Sirius made a channel that only played Coldplay and I solely listened to that for the week or two it was on. I didn’t love their music but I enjoyed certain songs. After hearing Chris Martin and quick witted, how cool he acts and the fact that he’s married to Gwyneth (who loves anal) really put him up notches in my book. Plus, and this is the kicker, hearing him play “Paradise” live in the studio really makes you realize how talented he is. Gaga played in Howard’s studio live and it had the same effect on me. I’d actually almost buy their new album Mylo Xyloto after hearing this interview. Howard does have disgusting and completely stupid skits sometimes but he hits home runs with big star interviews.
