People also love telling you that the song that you are playing for them is old. Basically unless it’s one day new, it’s old. This gives people the sense that they are the most in touch with popular music. It’s like a self serving ego boost when they can tell you that the music you like is old. “I used to listen to that song when I was riding my dinosaur” is a common remark.
