The problem with the system now is that when you give someone the death penalty they immediately appeal and the time and money you waste by going to court over and over again is more costly then putting them in prison.

If you’re willing to give someone the death penalty once I have trouble believing that you might reconsider if you look at it again. When you give something that severe you mean it. No appeals, kill on the spot. America would never do that though.
