My Treasurer descendants would want to earn your trust, and they&#039;d want me to let you know that, indeed, the name is real. The first time we see the word &quot;Treasurer&quot; as a last name was in France (&quot;Tresor&quot;). The Treasurer&#039;s, apparently, were French Huguenots who migrated to England. Some remained there, others were chased out due to their religious beliefs and headed to America. My great-grandfather came through Ellis Island and ended up in Mount Vernon, New York.
