T.J. McConnell’s Assist-to-Turnover ratio is 3.41 – 6th in the league behind the likes of Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Ricky Rubio, etc. His Assists-per-48 is 11.9, tied for 5th in the league behind Harden, Westbrook, Wall, and Rubio. For an un-drafted second year point guard (point guards distribute more than shoot), I’d say he’s far exceeded expectations.

As for Gerald, we didn’t expect all that much, and he hasn’t done all that much. He’s an okay player. The grades I gave are relative.

If Embiid didn’t hurt his knee and this phantom fracture in Simmons; foot healed, they could’ve pushed for a playoff spot this year. Since neither of those happened, they’re throwing the next 27 games out the window. I don’t really mind since the season is lost anyway, but you can’t deny some of the progress.

I know I know, “you keep saying ‘if’! When is this process ACTUALLY going to work?!”

If they don’t make the playoffs next year, I will officially be worried.

I like to envision this process as trying to carve an ice sculpture. Hinkie bought a giant block of ice on the cheap (although it took a few years) and then was fired and replaced by a “professional” ice carver. All of your assets are getting older and therefore their rookie contracts are creeping toward expiration…the ice is melting. Our new professional carver just cut off the sculptures dick. Now we have a cockless block of ice. Troof
