You make a good point Brookes - there's no reason for people to go to the site, since every dating site is flooded with white people.

Since that's the case, why don't people just let his site die out? It's a bad business model! But the PC police see this, make a stink over nothing, and now the site is getting way more traffic than it ever would have if these people didn't care (which they shouldn't).

This guy's idea will fail because it's a bad idea, not because it's racist, and anyone saying it's racist needs a reality check.

It seems like a pretty useless entry into the marketplace though. Not by specification, but by sheer volume of people (as you noted), most other established dating sites probably have an overwhelming amount of white users. While the marketing noise may create some interest, I'd be doubtful that his product offers anything much different than what is out there.

I get the notion of certain kinds of specified dating sites. Religion, senior, sexual orientation and fitness/active lifestyle seem like reasonable outliers from general dating sites.

The BIG money idea is to create a portal site (a la Trivago or Priceline) that searches ALL of these dating sites for you to find the most likely matches based on your criteria.

Everytime a micro-industry within the internet balloons, the next step is always a service to curate the content for you.
