As I was in line today in Dunkin Donuts I heard one person order a chicken biscuit and another an Oreo Cappuccino. Am I the only one blown away by these selections? It’s 7:13am and people are eating chicken and Oreo milkshakes for breakfast.
Now where I start to get confused is if I should be disturbed by the people or the establishments offering these choices. My first thought was to blame Dunkin but this is incorrect. A business primary function is to serve it’s customers and they are offering what the customers want.
On to the customers. Are the customers uneducated, know but don’t care, or just flat out oblivious? You could make the argument that I know beer is not good for me but I drink it anyway. If I order a beer at 9 am is that any different than this example? For me it feels different. This is because I rate my selection of drinking beer as one of my worst vices. However, if you are eating an Oreo Milkshake at 7am, I have a feeling this isn’t your worst habit.
I don’t exactly know why ordering chicken at 7am is wrong but my instinct tells me it is. My “wrong” instinct hits red alert. Enough to make me want to post about it and try to (not) get opinions on the subject matter. Does anyone else feel strongly about this matter?
Sausage, bacon, and ham are common on breakfast sandwiches. We think of those as breakfast meats, but I don’t see why chicken should be seen any differently. It’s just not as common.
I find it shocking how consistently people make “bad” decisions around diet and exercise. The lack of will power is really amazing.
If you only listened to the media, and not the medical professionals, you would think being fat IS being healthy. What they’re doing is not “fat-acceptance”, it’s “fat-encouragement” to combat all of the “fat-shaming” that goes on.
I agree you shouldn’t make fun of fat people, but fat people should be educated to know that they’re risking their lives when they “love their body” and don’t do anything to combat their obesity.
It’s funny that I’m outraged at chicken as a breakfast option when considering other “breakfast” meats. If I grew up in a completely different areas (ie. the ghetto or India)((these are jokes for the ultra sensitive)), chicken is completely commonplace. Is it bad for you for breakfast? I don’t know the health effects. It feels extremely wrong to me.
Chicken biscuit Calories- 539
Bacon egg and cheese Calories- 470
Sausage egg and cheese Calories- 620
The difference is pretty negligible
Oreo Cappuccino? That’s grosser than the chicken biscuit
