Just to clarify the above comment was actually not my brother, but my friend Sam who broke his comment cherry.

Did you mean dealer as in drug dealer?

Also you are exactly correct that I remembered the dinner from Revel a year ago and decided to keep it inside me until the opportune moment almost 14 months after to sheepishly write about it and post it on Facebook so you'd backhandedly take it as an insult.

Thanks for commenting.

I was out with two other couples this weekend (26-27yr olds) and none of them had cash. One person even said they'd Venmo it to me, to which I replied with the same argument you gave above. They suggested I get Venmo, because that's what everyone uses. Bollocks! Does your dealer accept Venmo? Yah, didn't think so. I'd prefer to have as little as possible electronically linked to my bank accounts, and/or accessible through your phone. So I'm leaning towards cash on hand being a generational thing; that being said, if you're in your late 20s or older, and don't have cash on you, GTFO. If there's no cash in your wallet, there's moths. And you shouldn't be going out in the first place!

Although I can't help but feel like an old man fighting the changing times. Yes, cash is becoming obsolete, but until it is, CASH. IS. KING.

(And if you're referring to me about putting the tab on my card, and keeping the cash from Steve's bday dinner last summer, fuck you. Revel's ATMs charged like a $10 transaction fee, meaning I'd have to pull out a g to minimize it to 1%. Besides, if you know a server, date/dated a server, or served tables yourself, if you tip ANYTHING less than 20% you're just embarrassing yourself.)

Besides all the chicks, my favorite part of Richmond is that every restaurant, bar, etc will ask your group if you'd like one check or if you'd like to split it. I dont know why it's different here but it's awesome.

Splitting a bill between a large group of people is always a pain in the ass. It's like people don't understand how taxes and tipping work.
