While not in the same vein, do not forget that Hughes made the classic National Lampoon Vacation movies – Vacation, European Vacation and Christmas Vacation… as well as Trains, Planes and Automobiles.

None however compares to “Valley Girl” with Nicholas Cage.

I thought Weird Science was horrible.
16 Candles is a classic.
I’ve never seen Pretty in Pink.
I enjoyed Ferris.

I also liked St Elmos Fire directed by Joel Schumaker.

John Hughes changed the way an entire generation of kids thought about themselves and their potential. He was one of the first directors/writers to explore how kids felt.
